I am trying to put together a little series called FightTV. So far I only have two episodes. Also, its really based on the editing. My camera work was kinda crap in that cuz I was using this really crappy camera, at least it took miniDV though.

Tell me what you think =D

P.S. - The first episode is a weird aspect ratio for some reason on vimeo. The 2nd is fine tho. Also I know that in ep.2 the credits say Episode 1...

since Im new to filming and learning everything I can only comment on the fight... please please please don't advertise them as mixed martial artist when reality they are just a couple of kids who probably seen a few UFC shows... sorry just my ten pence worth

Firstly, please de-interlace. It's really bugging me.

Now from a film-making point of view, it's nothing special. To be honest, from the first episode, those "slow down" moments really took away from the fight. It was like fight fight fight oh wait, look at how he almost hit him in slow motion visuals and sound (slow mo sound just sounds bads). It was distracting. If you're going to do it, show us something good, and maybe take out the slow mo sound. Or perhaps show us higlights at the end to not take away from the fight.

Honestly, unless you give us some angles, cutting, etc... it just looks like a typical high school fight caught on a cam phone (although the quality is obviously better).

The intro stuff at the beginning... nothing special. Kind of typical stuff I'd expect. Try something new, different, cool.

Stances... what other sort of "stances" are there? I study Kiyokushin Karate, I studied another form at a younger age, and I've studied a bit of judo. When you fight you take once stance, it's called a "fighting stance". Other stances are only used to build balance, strength, mobility, etc... when training only. When you fight you just do a regular fighting stance. I would take out the "stance: orthodox," this isn't some crazy kung fu movie with fancy crane/cat stances.

Now for the fighting. In all honesty, it doesn't seem as though they have all too much experience in fighting. How many years of experience do these "mixed martial artists" have? And what styles? Because if you don't have all too much experience, not to sound like a mood killer, but seems like someone could genuinly get hurt.

Inexperienced people, fighting over concrete without any pads of any kind. I mean I know martial artitst that have broken bones, and worse. Someone at my dojo got two concussions under controlled circustances when we were sparring (not against myself, but others). I've been knocked down and almost out once. I know someone who's ribs were broken just by a punch. I know a black belt that broke her fingers when in a tournament. I have a friend that did ninjitsu, and when sparring broke his jaw. These were all with at least minimal pads, in controlled rooms with trained proffesionals watching, sometimes they were the trained proffesionals themselves.

A bunch of kids fighting without pads on concrete... I don't think it would end well. Especially if only one of them is a martial artist.
