Field Monitors - The Chinese alternative (Lilliput)

ProAim seems to be the cheaper alternative for shoulders mounts, matteboxes, follow focuses, rails, etc, for many film makers on the budget.

Is Lilliput the cheaper alternative for field monitor use?

The company is from China though. They do offer free shipping and a 2 year warranty on the monitors, and accept PayPal - so if something went wrong, atleast PayPal has your back (to a certain extent). Granted, it doesn't have peaking/zebra's, but still a bargain if it works as advertised. I've seen it used with other cameras, but I'm interested in seeing if some 7D/550D/5D owners are using these...

Anyone using these things?

cordvision - your sig worked. Just reached for the duster to blast that bug.

Beyond that - a good friend raves about his Lilliput. Among other things.

Is there a disadvantage to using a netbook instead of something like this lilliput? Some netbooks have a higher screen resolution at similar prices. And you can use the EOS utility on them(with Canons).

id have to check the models i have. i have two different ones
resolution is PLENTY to pull focus well. I have one mounted on my shoulder rig and my steadicam. the monitor is heaps better than a loupe for sure. i can post up some pics later on if youd like

cool, I'd really appreciate that - thanks!

Anyone has any idea of the possibility of rigging a smartphone (i.e. IPhone/ Google Nexus One) to a DSLR and act as a monitor? I don't need a 7" monitor so something the size of my Nexus would be perfect really.
