Hey everyone. I have never used an external other than a computer monitor when shooting interviews and I'm in a stable location. I am really in need now of a field monitor for street shots and shooting out and about. Budget is anywhere from $500 - $1000. I have done some research but seems other then the DP6 nothing has really strong reviews.

Certain things are important to me. Ability to focus better than stock viewfinder. True colors, histogram, zebras (will fs100 zebras how on monitor?) HDMI connection.

If anyone has any experience or any thoughts on a good monitor would be great.

Thanks!

I test a lot of monitors ... Marshall, Small HD, Lilliput, etc ... and you know - for my "far from perfect" eyes I choose to have Last models of 7" Lilliput - they are good enough and cost only $250-$300 ! ...

So .. now I have one 10.1" Lilliput monitor wich I've got a year ago -

and 7" Lilliput monitor, wich I've got couple month ago:

I like it, as it have HDMI IN and HDMI OUT !! .. and I can use one battery they give me:

and also Sony battery:

Check up the threads on this already made. You have to consider what you demand from a monitor. If color accuracy is a prio then look for a monitor with that... often cheap monitors have awful coloration, and pretty close is not close enough when it comes to color imo.

1000 dollars can get you some of the way. Personally I would rather spend that extra 500-1000 dollars and get something that is good from the start.
