Few questions on the AJA mini.

One more bit of feedback.... as the mini is usually mounted behind the operators head, you have no way of knowing if it's rolling or how much card space is left. If EVF's and monitors are plugged into the hdmi/sdi outputs of the KiPro, it would be really useful to have the option of a record tally, % remaining and battery voltage indication superimposed onto the output. It would certainly ease the stress levels of not knowing if you're recording or not!

I appreciate that it is more difficult to determine the state of things if you cannot see the Ki Pro Mini. If being able to see the device is imperative for you, you could elect to mount the unit to the camera via something like an articulated arm and hang it over the top front portion of the camera where it is visible. With this configuration, you could leave the battery parked at the rear for weight distribution and simply run the power cable up to the front where the Ki Pro Mini is located; I've done this before and it has worked nicely. That's just one possibility. There are many, many ways of mounting the device to the camera thanks to the versatile Mini Mounting Plate accessory. If you haven't looked at this document posted on our website before, I would highly recommend it:

While several of the configurations in the document show the Ki Pro Mini located behind the camera, several also show it placed in other locations around the camera. At NAB we often mount Ki Pro Minis to cameras in a wide variety of ways to demonstrate this versatility. One interesting way to mount it to 15mm rods is shown on page 7 of the aforementioned document.

As far as a "super" video output on the Ki Pro Mini... that is certainly worthwhile feedback and it is something we would like to provide, but it isn't a promised feature of the device. If possible, we would like to add this, but I cannot promise it as a feature.

Mounting it on the camera so you can see it is what Ive done but it doesnt help if you are using an EVF.
