Few grabs from a Shoe TVC

Shooter

Veteran
Screen Grabs from my rushes
Shot on DVX102a - low budget TVC for a Shoe Store Sale.
Format 4:3 (25p) PAL (F5)

No C.C yet but shot with the intention of using a particular Magic Bullet. Mood will be darkish and blue tinged. Spot color will bring forward detail eg red shoes

EDIT: after Previewing these on the site - I notice that they appear darker , more saturated and less chroma than actual
footage.

Re: Few grabs from a Shoe TVC

Excellent... very sharp and 35mm types.
What option did u select in Magic Bullet?

Re: Few grabs from a Shoe TVC

Sorry ...she aint Sandra Bullock ( but not too far off and is professional model)

Grade will use MB (or DFT looks) with a Bleach bypass feel favoring a blue look in shadows. Over all more contrast. I have more detail and chroma to play with than is showing on the screen grabs above. (something happened in minimising the file size)

Point of interest - light levels were extremely low on set and DV RAck gave me a lot of confidence to shoot fairly crushed down. Results matched real well whenI got it back to my NLE

Nice grabs Shooter. Question?

It appears to be natural sunlight; did you use a 3200K PRST to get the blue or is the done is POST? Or is it an HMI with CTB?

Re: Few grabs from a Shoe TVC

I shot a preset 3200K Tungsten balance because I had small tungsten units running inside. I let the exterior light bring in the blue and I controlled it by dexterous use of the blackout curtains over the windows. There was also a tungsten practical (a chandelier in fact on a dimmer) that I could wind up for subtle warmth.

I bounced both tungsten and daylight by small white reflectors into close ups. Also there was a fire running in the fireplace. Wish the grabs were a bit more representative of the look but will post a clip or some grabs once I C.C and give it a "look" .
