Ferrite Core for PC?

Hi Everyone....

probably a stupid question....but the manual on p. 78 says use the ferrite core when connecting to a PC with firewire. Does that mean you don't need it on a Mac?

I thought this piece just cuts out electrical interference...am I wrong? Would it hurt to use it anyways? slow things down or something on a mac?

I think "PC" just refers to what PC actually means... Personal Computer. A mac machine is no less a PC than a windows machine. It's just that, for some reason, the term PC has been connected with an OS.

it was a bit confusing because in the manual they use mac and pc to refer to the os's in other places I believe.
