Fellini Directs Again!

That's true. It's only an estimate though. LOL I worked in labs and "exposed" a lot of film. It wasn't unusual to expose over a million feet per day. So maybe half a billion?

I'm not doing the math. I have to shoot some film today to keep up my quote. LOL

Before this Internet thing, it used to be possible to cut in any music one wanted just for private screenings. I've sent trailers and promos to the studios even with major feature film music in them. But now that we can post them on the Internet, I guess it's different. Oh, well, but it's always better to get creative and use new music. I'm seriously considering taking some music composition courses. Music is so important to the modern movie...

It would be great if I could find a reasonably-priced sound stage in LA. I have a lot of experience shooting on sound stages. It so much easier to just light it and shoot.

But casting is next and I have to deal with it first. I'm still getting submissions from Actors Access and the other social networks. It's harder for me to judge from the electronic submissions. There were only twenty hard copies submitted this time. I'm really surprised.

Tomorrow I hit the pavement in Hollywood :-) I'm going to make a rough schedule today regarding all the locations I already have. Nobody suggested any sound stage in Hollywood yet. If there is anyone out there that knows of a few names, please post them here. Thanks.

Well, if I can't find a reasonable sound stage, I'll have to use practical locations. Maybe I'll drive around and look. If you think of something, let me know before tomorrow. I'm Southern California.

No. It's back to basics. I'm auditioning actors this week and looking for a private location where I can shoot the big scenes of FELLINI DIRECTS AGAIN!

Casting Notice
A medium brings back Federico Fellini from the dead, and he immediately takes over the set!

Casting for an actor to do Fellini. Here’s your chance to play the old maestro!

We need: divas, clowns – all the Fellini characters. Come in and do your thing … ala fellini!

Actors are encouraged to bring costumes and make up – everything over the top.

Impersonators, impressionists welcome!

There is new interest in the project. This may be a huge festival movie. Over the next two weeks if this is going to happen, I will be making the announcement.

A location is becoming available for FELLINI DIRECTS AGAIN! So if you were out there looking around for me, this is just to say, "thanks, wait, I may have found the place to shoot." A big night club.... Will keep you updated as soon as I visit. I will post some pictures of it.

I don't want to shoot the film at a higher budget, because it is structured along the lines of cinema verite. Besides, the market for it is the art market, so it's best to keep a low budget film a low budget film and a no-budget film a no-budget film, lest things go haywire ... lest it goes to one's head.LOL

This is going truly a felliniesque movie in the classical sense. A few locations and transportation logistics need to be nailed down, then it's a go.

Mine That Bird won the 135th Kentucky Derby. There was not one single camera on him! The announcer didn't mention his name until he was leading by almost three lengths, then "uh, uh ... and Mine That Bird is on the outside..."

Mine That Bird, a 50-1 odds came from last and passed the entire field with one quarter of a mile left and won by almost 7 lengths!

There was not one camera covering the entire field, and nobody go to see him win until the last twenty yards. I'd have fired the entire crew covering the NBC telecast of the Derby. What a disaster; this is no way to do coverage.

There is a lot of room for the indie filmmaker in all the fields of endeavor. Because no one believe you can win, it doesn't mean we can't.LOL That gives me hope as I plan to make FELLINI DIRECTS AGAIN!

Today I get new lenses. Pray for me :-) I've been using Zeiss lenses before. I hope these will be better.

Thank you for your prayers :-) The 3rd week of this month begins the audition of actors for FELLINI DIRECTS AGAIN!

The movie will be shot with the Sony Z1U at 1080i 60i and edited in HDV native timeline, FCP 5.04, 2.7 gH dual processors G5, 4MB RAM memory.

One-man no-buget shoot feature length 83 minute movie. This will be my second felliniesque movie. It will be a true indie movie ALL NON-UNION, but I will be favoring SAG-eligible actors. I will not go against the SAG guidelines for using actors in general, because I'm gearing up for two SAG signatory productions as director, both projects have been offered to me as a result of my previous 35mm feature film work. They will be in the 3-5 million dollar range. Wish me luck too.

Can't wait to get going with FELLINI DIRECTS AGAIN! I love production most of all. I'm hoping I'll get lucky and end up taking in some money on outside production assignments so I can put some money into my own movie.
