Feeling guilty

I'm teching a four day course at a local university for four days. I get paid 25 bucks an hour to ride levels on a lav mic and switch sources from video signal to laptop. I could easily train my cat to take my post but I don't because It's a course on the elements of style in film and storytelling. The material is really engaging stuff and I'm learning heaps of good info and I'm getting paid to attend...:cheesy:

Sometimes life IS fair!!!
 
Sometimes it just works out... Last week I teched one for Bill Clinton, again I was switching video-data. We were all backstage as it was rear projection and the president was standing right next to me waiting to go on stage. Just before he did, he turned and shook my hand and said "Thank you". In all the time I've been in this racket that's the first time that a person of his stature has thanked me with that level of personal warmth.... Of course, that's before I accidentally threw up Lulu the poodle jumping through hoops of fire on the big screens!! :)
