Feature Film DVD Cover (need input)

The DVD cover looks fine, except for the contrast thing that others already mentioned. You could rename the movie, "Emo Vigilantes". :) Sorry, there's another thread about emo and this reminded me of it. :) Good luck with the rest of your project! Looks good so far.

Hey Pk... I've asked this question several times with no response... Can you explain to me how I can post my images within a thread so people won't have to click on a link to see it?

put the URL of the image in between

Pookie..you go with the Advanced posting feature?

niice...i use the ghetto way....the quick reply box..ohh yeeh!!

Smithhouse - Sorry for the delayed response. My mom is in town and I have to be a tour guide during the day. The good news is she pays for all the food. :) Looks like Pookie and blckhawk answered the question much quicker (and better) than I could. Test it out!

Blackhawk, Pookie, and PK... I'm seriously about to pull my hair out (not that I have any), but I'm doing what you told me, but obviously missing something.

Below is the link to one of my grabs... which works when you click on it:

because I want to imbed it I do:
which I did, but below is what shows up in the thread instead of the picture. same as above.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? or better yet, take that link and make it show up in your thread... anyways, doesn't hurt to ask right?

Thanks for your patience you guys

SmithHouse

P.S. it's almost 2:00 in the morning so I'm turning in... good night to all.

Hey guys, I did it... Thanks a lot for your help:

Thanks again

I'd go for a reshoot.

The video cover picture was obviously taken with a camera mounted flash. It's got the birthday party picture, instimatic look to it.

There's no modeling shadow to the faces.... therefore no character, emotion etc.

Try with the flash or lights to the side for more drama.... or the classic 3 point light setup.

Good point, Stab. That never even crossed my mind... most likely going to take a whole new approach. Appreciate that feedback.

Hey Smithhouse, The thing that bothers me most is actually the back cover. I think you're showing too much "behind the scenes" in your stills. It makes the video seem as though it's a collection of outtakes and gags. I could see one... maybe, two images like that, but having the whole back cover like that says something else. To me, it says, "We made this movie just so we could add to our collection of party pics and videos.". You should sell the story, not how much fun it was to make.

Just my .02¢

Terry - I hope I don't lose the "Pimp My Site" Award for saying this, but I think you're referring to Envision's DVD design, not Smithhouse. Envision made the one with the Behind the Scenes footage for the cast of his zombie flick.

D'oh! :)

I think PK's right ... I just looked at Smithhouse's back cover, and it's not coming across as BTS. I didn't design mine specifically for a retail/store look ... it's just a personal one that's going to the cast & crew, so the BTS photos will mean more to them & it was for that purpose I put them on there. DVD will simply contain a 5 min. short & a whole LOT of BTS for them (out takes, etc.).

So, I agree with you, Terry, if you're talking about mine. If I were trying to market this, the back would look COMPLETELY different, as well as changes to the front as well.
