SAG Ultra Low, filmed on RED

This is my latest endeavor after wrapping Fathoms Deep. RD Productions and Kavadba Entertainment began work on DisOrientation. A college comedy about.... well you can guess... the usual college shenanigans.

A 15 year old Genius gets paired up in the dorms with the school slacker and hilarity ensues.

We shot with a 35ft crane, a full grip truck full of lighting equipment and attached a few recognizable actors (1 of which is pending paperwork but is name talent)

The Red cam is a beast of a machine but it's getting us killer picture... and taking forever to setup the shots.

Cameo Actors - Richard Moll "Bull" from Night Court
Maria Olsen from Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief

We are halfway through shooting and everything is looking good.

Dunno how this hasn't gotten more attention because it looks great! Would love to hear about the progress man!

Haha we ended up with a 2 1/2 hour long college comedy. Looks like we'll be cutting a few scenes. Lol.

Also, if you look at the school mascot shirt the black actor is wearing in the screen grab... It says Falls City University Fighting Beavers.

We made about 30 of those shirts for the extras and students to wear in the film. If anyone needs screenprinting check out www.kavadba.com. We'd be happy to help.

@Zblock, looks like you're rolling right along. How long of a period has it been from development (or pre-production) to post?

The script had been in revisions for about a year before we felt like it was appropriate to shoot. When we started pre-production on Fathoms Deep we had a thought that disOrientation would be our next feature. Overall though it was a very quick process. A few phone calls (seriously all it took... blew my mind) to Canada to get funding and once the money was there it was flying sparks from September planning to October through Jan sporadic shooting and now theres a completed rough draft of the film. I'm sure it'll be months and months before it's done but the Director wants to be finishing up in 8 weeks. If he hits his mark we'll have completed 2 features films in a years time while taking a summer long roadtrip around the country.

Stan the cut still needs work. The Director and another producer are going to trim a lot out this weekend and we'll have a look afterwards.

It's always long at first. Definitely gotta trim it.

Have you tested it? We had a comedy a couple years back that came in at 2 1/2 hours and we tested it in order to make cuts...it worked well. It got down to a 90 min. cut after a few test screenings and lots of notes from the team.

Congratulations and good luck with the remainder of post.
