FD lens adapter questions

I've just ordered a ebay fd adapter, and figured I'd ask experienced users (fd-emount fs100) a couple questions?

Is there a setting "release without lens" or any setting that I'd need to select before mounting adapter to camera body?

Has anyone damaged camera by using adapter?

I'm sure the ebay adapters probably will not come with manual or instructions

The camera won't even know you have the adapter on nor does it really care. So just put it on and shoot away without any worries.
 
Yeah, the camera is pretty mellow about lenses it can't talk to... it will warn you if you try to do something that won't work, like setting aperture on the camera, but otherwise it keeps quiet. (Nice!)
