FCP7 compatible mixing board w/ mechanical controls

I'd like to buy a mixing board (USB) that I can plug into my Macbook Pro and use with Final Cut Pro 7. Ideally one that can record keyframes as I manually move the mixing board and then replicate these movements on playback, and record keyframes in the computer and replicate those on the mixing board on playback.

My limited audio knowledge makes it tough for me to know the right terminology for something like this, but if someone can point me to even a couple models as an example, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks.

What you're looking for is a USB MIDI fader control (mixing surface). There is a single-fader version from PreSonus that will allow you to work with one track at a time, which is probably the least expensive way to go.

I'm moving this to the FCP 7 forum, since it's really about FCP-compatible hardware.

Thanks for the info Alex. Do you know of any good quality, but pricier options that would include 6 to 12 channels?

You want to make sure that any control surface you buy is compatible with the Mackie control protocol. That would include products from Avid, Behringer and Tascam, to name a few.
