FCP won't see the DVX100 with mini FW to Firewire800

Is there a utility or a driver available that will help Final Cut Studio see the camera so I can capture my footage?

Using a MacBook Pro Dual Core intel 2.8Ghz
(There's only a FW800 jack and USB)
OSX 10.5.8
4G Ram
Final Cut Studio 7.0.2
 
Under the Panasonic IEEE 1394 compatibility table it only shows OSX boxes checked for
Final Cut Pro 4.5 and below.

Is there an updated driver so my computer can handshake with the AG-DVX 100P???
 
Well first of all I would not recommend capturing, or even playing back on the DVX. There is a chance the firewire port on the camera is blown, because at my school we just ordered some new quad core mac pros that only have FW800 on them. I took a capture camera and it worked fine on FCP 7 first time.

To determine if the port is blown, go to Apple>About This Mac>More Info>FireWire... In the list, if the firewire port works on the DVX, then it should show up in the list.
