An interesting issue: FCP will not recognize one of my drives. Finder recognizes it OK but no luck with FCP, any thoughts?

I've never seen this before, but:
1) you plugged in the drive while FCP was already running. FCP will likely not refresh its drive list during operation.
2) the drive is NTFS or some other file system that FCP cannot write to and therefore omits it from its list.
These are both "maybe" answers... I really don't know.

How is the drive attached to the Mac? Is it an internal or external drive? SATA or FW400/800? If the latter, are the drives daisy chained?
If FW400/800, same brand and mechanism?
How formatted? OSX extended or FAT32? New problem or old?
Help us out.
