On a shoot last week I used P2 Genie to ingest all of my cards. I was working on a MBP 2.33 GHZ, 3 8gig cards and a 16 gig card and I am up to date with all of my drivers.

Upon p2 capture in FCP all of my clips give me a red "!" and will not preview or import. All of my p2 folders seem to have the proper folder structure and the last clip file (except for 1! thank you p2 geinie!! this happens from time to time where p2 genie says all is in when it is not! this will be the last time I use it ....trust me)

Are these files not well? Can I repair them somehow? If not it is going to be extremely hard to reassemble 5 survivors of the eastern front on their mid to late nineties!!!

Thank You in advance

A red exclamation mark indicates that you have a spanned clip. I'm not sure how FCP handles this since I don't use it, but if you point it to all of the locations that contain the clip segments, it should reassemble the individual pieces just fine.

The LASTCLIP.TXT file isn't crucial, it is actually just used by the camera. Some software looks for the file to determine whether you have a valid P2/MXF folder, but the contents aren't needed to work with the clips. If you want, you can copy the LASTCLIP.TXT file from another folder, but I believe FCP doesn't need the file at all.

Which version of FCP? Can't see your system from here. This seemed to happen in 5.1.2 and was fixed in 5.1.4. Haven't had it happen in current version.
