FCP Transcode Issue. . .Help

I'm having trouble transcoding one particular file. Shot at PH mode 1080 30p. Using FCP to transcode to ProRes. I can transcode the file before and the file after. It gets half way through and stops. I can play the partial clip it had trandcoded and it looks fine. I can play the entire clip in the preview window, but will not transcode the whole clip.

This is a long clip, roughly 1 hour in length. (Wedding videographer). I have another file of the same approx length from a different HMC150 and it transcoded perfectly.

I have tried the entire clip. . .nothing. I have set an end point and out point with a few seconds in on each. . .nothing. I have split the clip in half. . .nothing. It will transcode the first 26 min fine. After that it will only do about a minute of the same piece of the clip.

Suggestions?

Sounds like it could be an error in the FAT32 formatting of the card if its one long clip thats spans sections as roughly 24 or 26 minutes as you stated is about the size of each 4GB section.

Does it play back fine on camera? VLC?

I guess maybe you already ruled out the possibility of it being a bad file and hence asked about a FCP transcoding issue ;)

Plays back fine on the camera. It also plays back fine (full clip) in the FCP preview window of Capture and Transfer.

I found a workaround, but not my first choice. I set an out point where it would stop transcoding. I then transcoded that section. Then I had to move down the clip, nearly 60 frames, and set in and out points. Transcoded that section.

Its weird. Clips just as long from two other cameras were fine. Its just that one clip.
