Hi everyone, I just want to ask a quick (and urgent) question. One of my friends has decided he cant work on FCP so he wants me to do it on Avid. But i want to figure out how i would transfer the captured media and the batch list from a FCP system (on mac) to a Avid system (on win vista) on top of all this i had problems formatting a external hdd. ( i had compatibility issues with mac/win file systems) id be grateful if you could help me, thank you :)

EDL and batch or automatic duck.
You'll find a CMX3600 edl works best. Ensure your reels names are fibve characters or less, you have not used more than 4 audio tracks and you have used no filters or plugins.
SMPTE transistions will translate seamlessly.

You might wanna get another external, format that in NTFS-3G and media manage everything to it so you'll have a drive that's both mac and pc compatible.

NTFS-3G will be alot slower in transferring the files, but it's better slow than sorry. Might wanna consider doing it overnight.
