fcp through hvx to monitor

I know I can do this with sd footage as I do it all the time with this camera and others, but how do I do it with 720 24, or even 1080 24.

have firewire to camera, and d4 to hd monitor.

Its not possible to do in real time. You have to "transfer" the HD file file back to the card then it will play through the HD component output. Forgot the process right now... I think if you search for how to output a HD project into a hvx, it will tell you... I have done it, and it looks great! Its worth the searching on how to do it. ~have a great day!
 
I see, that blows big ones. whats the solution for using an hd lcd monitor as your editing monitor for hd projects, I can't add cards as I use a powerbook. maybe a pcmcia card?

Matrox MXO. Takes your output from the DVI port to a DVI monitor and gives you correct monitoring. Also has SDI, composite, component outs as well as real time downrez.

the Matrox MXO is cool, but at 900 bucks way out of my price range right now, anything of the like, for under 200?
