I don't use a Wacom for video work (love my mighty mouse) but use a Cintiq for photo retouching and have an Intuos 3 for my laptop. Beware of the cheaper "consumer" Wacom tablets! They are MUCH less precise and I find them to just be annoyingly inaccurate to use.
