FCP Separate Audio Tracks

Does anyone know of an option to record independent audio tracks for the AF's two XLR inputs?

Here's my scenario:
Input 1- wireless lav
Input 2- shotgun mic

In FCP, the two audio tracks are locked together; if I attempt to raise/lower the lav audio, the shotgun audio also mirrors the adjustment.

Way I would do it is, click on clip in timeline, command L to unlock. Hope this helps. Not on the mac now to see if this works, so hopefully it does.

cmd L to unlock from picture, then option L to unlock as a stereo pair, then pan them both center (option period, I think).

Anyone know why FCP will only ingest as stereo? All the option-L and panning is kind of a pain. Is this something that a camera firmware upgrade could change? I'm recording LPCM.

It's more of an ingest option for FCP. You can make things a little better by going to the
little sprocket pulldown on the Log and Transfer window and change the audio
preference for AVCHD ingest from "matrix stereo" to "plain stereo". That makes
the audio tracks more easily separable since it's using L/R instead of M/S stereo
tracks.

Using Modify->Stereo Pair will allow them to be treated as individual audio tracks.

I hope they allow linking options as a setting you can apply per media type in the
future.
