Ban Me Please!
Hello all.
I have been trying to reorganize my editing computer by adding a raid drive, because of the amount of footage that I am shooting.
However, when I go to look at the file size of a folder it seems to be at least 3 or 4 times the size of the cards initial input.
I'm shooting either HV30 or GH1, but mostly GH1. When I shoot I might shoot 1.5 hours, which is 1.5 8 gig cards. That said, when I looked closer at one of the folders when reorganizing, I realized that the folder from the last shoot was 50 gigs.
What am I missing? I'm not very well versed at FCP or imovie really. I use iMovie most of the time, because I don't need to do anything complex and it's easy to get the results I need, but when I run into a question like this it's not easy to find on this consumer software.
Is it something to do with compression? My settings? ???
Sorry, if this is a dumb question, but up until now I've just ingested, edited and spit it out. Not really paying reverence to the edit Gods. Sorry
Best,
J.
