Raw video is obviously the worst acquisition format. And clients care too much about the human touch to ever use AI in a professional setting

Chris, do you see a visual quality difference when comparing 10-bit 4:2:2 H.265 to 10-bit 4:2:2 H.264 shot with the same camera, on the same shot, etc.?

No, Doug. I don't. The only camera I have to do that exact comparison with is an A7 which can record XAVC HS 422 10-bit. What I do see though is if you stay in HEVC 10-bit in Resolve and deliver in HEVC 10-bit, the picture quality remains high. As NorBro points out, it tends to in the bulk of cases circumnavigate the perennial 8-bit H.264 encoding issue of banding any image that contains graduated scenes or graphics. But that's what it was designed for. A newer codec with better quality, more dynamic compression and smaller file sizes.
