FCP low price

Grabbed mine at the Apple store tonight. I filled the gal in on the round about way to get into studio - she said "nice." She was shure they only had a few copies of Motion 2 left. I guess I have to wait until Feb 1 to move to studio. Stilled saved some $$$

hahaha!!! gotta love the lime....

this method clears up all the technical stuff. simply download the entire production suite and begin using it on as many computers as you like. when new versions come out, simply download them for the low upgrade price of $0.00. no muss, no fuss.

i'm kidding of course. i would never illegally download software....

I see according to Apple, they WILL also allow the $199 upgrade from the academic version of Final Cut Pro (4 or 4.5).

fyi, powermax was sold out so i purchased soundtrack pro from ebay for only $259 shipped. there's only one left!

i think with the academic upgrade, they will give you a full universal academic version.
 
I am confused again...if you all already have FCP 4, 4.5, or 5 why are you going out and buying Motion or Soundtrack Pro? It should be a $199 upgrade to the entire universal STUDIO package when it comes out in March. Now if you don't have anything at all then I totally understand why you all are buying those programs.
 
on my powermac, i have fcp 5.0.4. my powerbook needs an additional license in order to install, thus, another fcp studio is needed.
 
Wow, thanks a lot for the heads up, tak. I went over to my local apple store and picked up their last copy of Soundtrack Pro. They were also out of Motion, so I guess I got lucky. You just saved me a couple hundred bucks!
 
Thanks for this post! I'm going to end up paying about $550 Canadian instead of the retail price of $1499 plus tax for Studio!

boo, I snatched up the last soundtrack pro from eBay. I paid already but haven't heard from the seller yet/
