I haven't found an exact match for my glitch while searching; hoping there's some insight to be gleaned from sharing:
I'm logging & transferring dozens of AVCHD clips from various SDHC media, converting them to Apple ProRes. 95% of the clips transfer without any trouble.
However, every so often there's a clip that plays back fine, but will not log/transfer. When I add the clip to the queue, it hits a certain point in the file and utterly freezes, causing FCP to lock up. Force Quit is my only answer. The point of glitchiness in this file is consistent and I have to guess where the glitch ends, then log/transfer around that point. Obviously those portions of the takes are gone.
I can transcode the same clips to DVCPRO just fine on my PC. But obviously I'd like to have them in Apple Prores, in FCP.
Thoughts? Insights? Advice?
