FCP importing Panasonic P2 dialogue box

Until this week, I have been importing P2 cards into Final Cut Pro seamlessly. In the file menu I select Import, then Panasonic P2 and everything is great: the Import Panasonic P2 dialogue box appears and I am able to import my "No Name" files. But now, all of a sudden, the dialogue box is not appearing when I try to select Panasonic P2 in the import menu. The cards are all on my desktop, just as before, coming off of a P2 store, just as before. I am working in FCP 5.1.1. Could it be the version of FCP? Any other ideas?
Thank you.

The standard checks...

The standard checks...

Odds are you likely have, but will it all through just incase...

Have you restarted FCP? Your Macintosh?
Have you tried trashing/rebuilding your FCP Prefernces?
Have you tried transfering the files over again?

Those would be my first trouble shooting steps.

cheers.

Thanks for your reply. I did trash the preferences, using the protocols for FCP 5. I've started and restarted the CPU. The dialogue box still does not appear.

Problem with P2 Store?

Problem with P2 Store?

I just discovered that the Import Panasonic P2 dialogue box appears when my P2 Store is not connected to the system.
When the P2 Store is connected via USB I cannot get the dialogue box to come up. However, when it IS connected, the 8 No Name files appear on the desktop. So my G5 recognizes the contents of the Store, but FCP doesn't want to.
