fcp - Importing 60i to 24p timeline for slow motion

I've successfully done this in the past but now I am having issues. I feel like there's problems in my 2nd step?

1. Shoot 60i video
2. Import into fcp using DV NTSC settings
3. Export with current settings and send thru Cinema Tools to conform clip to 23.98
4. Import clip with new frame rate into 24p project
5. Clone clip and add to another video track
6. Slow both clips to %50 with frame blending off
7. De-interlace top track to upper and lower track to lower
8. Add blink filter to top track, first two check-boxes should show 1 and the 3rd box a zero

After all of this my footage looks like TURD. This procedure used to work for me and produced great slow motion. What has happened to my life???

I wish i could help you but i would also like to know the answer. I'm looking for a method to work with 60i and 24p footage.

try lowering the opacity in the upper clip to 30% and also take the deinterlacing filter off of the top track fcp automatically moves the fields to the upper if you have your sequence preset to that it is the default

Backround05,

This was 3 weeks ago, did you figure it out?

If you have MOTION 3, you might want to export your clip to Motion after step 4. Then re-time it (slow-mo) using Motion's "Optical Flow". Which gets applied when you adjust the timing pane.

OR you could ask this question in the FCP section (maybe you already did...)
