FCP-Firewire-DVX100b question

If you connect a DVX100b to a mac with FCP will FCP think the dvx (in VCR mode) is a miniDV tape deck?

I could try it out but id have to wait till monday to go to my University's lab. Figured id ask

Yes. It works as a deck.

Yes, you can control it remotely from the Capture screen. The camera just needs to be in VTR mode, and I had to play around with the settings a little to get it working. Just experiment a little.
