FCP Error: No Data

Ok, here's a real doosie for you fellas. Just got off a two camera shoot with a varicam connected to an HPG20 and an HPX170. We used a mixture of E-series and standard P2 cards. All cards were downloaded via P2CMS on the same system. A second backup copy was made as well. Camera A was exported from P2CMS as Project name/Camera A/Card 1, etc. Camera B was exported the same way, Project name/Camera B/Card 1, etc. The footage was shot with one card in a slot at a time and with free run time code.

The editor is using FCP, not sure which version but I don't believe that matters, I'll explain why in a second...

All the footage from Camera A imported fine. All the footage from Camera B shows up in the log and transfer window, can be played in that window and looks fine, except when it is added to the queue it does not transcode. A stop sign shows up and says Error: No Data...

Since I recieved the phone call I've tried importing the card again via P2CMS to a third hard drive, testing it on the FCP we have at my place, and still the same error. I also tried in FCP 5 with an error that states "possible incomplete or corrupted clip". The footage works fine with Premiere with a simple drag and drop into the timeline, so I know It's all there.

So my question is was was recorded differently in my cam than the HPG20 that is making FCP not capable of importing my footage? It's working fine through Premiere, which is our normal system.

Good Luck, Thanks!

UPDATE:

I've no tried making an exact copy of the P2 card with just a drag and drop copy, still no luck in FCP, same error messages accross the board.

I've also put the card in the camera and the camera into 1394 Device mode, read the data into FCP and then tried to import a clip. No luck, still same error message.

How is this possible?

In thumbnail view there are no warning symbols on any of the clips and they playback fine on the camera and in the log and transfer preview window.

UPDATE 2

I've figured out the cause but not the reason and I'm still troubled as to why...We shot in 720/24P mode with my HPX170 and the HPG20 attached to the varicam. The 720P/24P from the HPG20 is importing fine. the 720/24P from my camera is not. I just did a sample record at 720/24Pn with my camera and plugged it into final cut.

Reading from my camera, FCP would import my clips that were 720/24Pn but give me an error for any 720/24P clips. What's my camera doing different than the HPG20 to make this happen? The editor has told me the 720/24P form the HPG is importing fine...

UPDATE 3
Here's the conclusion...for some reason when my camera recorded in 720/24P final cut did not like the footage, no matter what. I could see it in the preview window but not actually bring it in. I would always get that error. I tried shooting a sample shot in 720/24Pn, imported without a problem...

THe workaround...we have all the footage backed up on a hard drive and the footage opens fine in premiere. TO get the clips into FCP I'm going to need to open them in premiere and then encode them via Adobe Media Encoder in the "P2" format. It will then create an entirely new P2 directory for each clip and, tested tonight, those 720/24P clips import into FCP without a problem.

So for me the questions remains. How is my camera recording 720/24P differently than the HPG20? THat same format from that unit imported fine...Panny? any thought?

Thanks, hopefully this will be helpful for someone...

Or you can try using RAYLIGHT ! it's great must have tool for the P2 ! It will embed your footage into a QT reference (qust like il would with your final edid in exoprt QT not independent) , no encodidng is done try it.
