I have looked around a few sites for any answers on this , but to no avail . So forgive me if this has been addressed.
I am using FCP 7 To Log and capture Over cranked 24p to 60p footage. crashes half way through first clip.
I have been using L&C for most of my imports , but all 24p and never an issue Using Pro Ress HQ, and even tried LT, still crashes.
Working on a 2 x 2.66 GHz 6-core intel with 16 GB ram
I used Clip wrap on the over-cranked footage , slow yes , considering it was just a 3 minute clip, but clip warp managed fine.
So I am wondering if this is a know issue or am I missing something ...I would just like to stay in FCP for my logging with out having to go to clip wrap..
So any ideas really appreciated

thanks

Hmmm.. I recently had the same problem but didn't realize that it was a problem until I just read your post... I shot in 24p and did some over and undercranked footage at both 12 and 60 fps.. small stuff, like max 3 mins.. When I log and transfer FCP 7 hangs.. I had to force quit the app. BUT I remember trying again a few times and seeing it hang but also getting my footage converted too.. I think I remember that I sent In and Out points on my footage and seems to think that might have helped.. I didn't use it this time but I have Episode Pro 6 that can batch convert AVCHD to ProRes (or whatever coded).. I was thinking of using that to do all my transcoding because it lets me turn on or off, use audio..

I don't know the solution here, but am just sharing in your pain. :)
