FCP and longer clips

Hi

did a thing over the weekend

the thesps dont half waffle on

Takes all 1-2 minutes

=1.5GB file at pro res per clip

my usual FCP workflow

of just dragging the clips onto the timeline

is giving me stuttering playback

Do I need to fiddle with my RT settings

any examples

2GHZ mac on 10.5 with 6 gig of ram BTW probably not that fastest machine nowadays

(shooting 7 and 5 canons)

Is it the clip size messing me up ?

Most will for your weekend things

recommend ProRes LT

to be just fine for 5D footage.

Myself and me only used LT

no issues for me or myself.

yet to blow it up on a big screen tho

Yeah it was an error by me I use LT but on mpgstreamclip its not actually listed to the difference

LT is the top one right?

why are you not using the FCP plugin for log and transfer its free?

A quick evaluation of that plug-in - I cant see what value it adds

My workflow..
Drag Card content of card to computer
optionally rename files using Photo Mechanic
Create prores using MPSC
Drag into FCP

My stills workflow for the last decade has been..
Drag Card content or card to computer
optionally rename files using Photo Mechanic
Edit in Capture Once
Finish in Photoshop
