FCP and Green Screening?

Green screening isn't done in FCP. Keying is done in FCP, or Motion or AE.

Are you asking how to equip and light a green screen?

Give a little more info- what sorts of shots, what format, camera, etc. I've done a ton of DV keying in FCP using the DV Matte plugin and Nattress' G-Nicer to soften up the chroma channel. Can look good- with well-shot footage. But yeah AFX and Shake is more adept.

oh, sorry fellas.... i shot some test footy just to attempt to learn how to green screen/key in 1080i (hdv) at 24f.....

Just wanted to know how to work with it in FCP.

The problem you may run into is blocky, unrealistic keys. HDV has a 4:1:1 color space and will be harder to key than DVCPRO HD or DVCPRO 50 or DIGI-BETA. I found DV MATTE PRO very helpful when keying 4:1:1 DV sources. Don't know if it key's HDV as well.
