Hey,
in the last few days my FCP seems to be acting crazy.
Either it'll effectively do nothing for ages, like its stalled, then all the actions I pressed with happen over a 5 second rapid fire time frame.
Or the keyboard, both usb and MBPro keyboard will stop working. Or rather, FCP sees the commands but doesn't process them. E.G. I'll press Shift+Z and the view menu will flash but won't give me the view change.
Another example is I'll use the mouse, line up the playhead, hit space...nothing. I can click the play icon in the canvas and the video will play but the keyboard does nothing.
However I think it means either the keyboard isn't working or the entire TOOLBAR isn't working - b/c I went to save the project to restart the PC, went file...save and the save icon clicked.
Then tried Quitting - CMD+Q didn't work, tried File-Quit FCP - that didn't work. So I force quit it, went back into it and it hadn't saved the project!
it was like the menu was seeing my commands but not enacting them.
This seems to happen randomly and not all the time, so it's v. frustrating at getting the thing to work.
I should say that every other program works file and the keyboard shortcuts work fine on them. I.E. Although CMD+Q didn't exit FCP it did exit 'Preview' in which I had a script up.
As I said I think the keyboard shortcut problem begets the menu system itself crashing?
Oh I don't think I've changed anything in the laptop lately, got about 30gb hd free and only thing that's changed is firefox has updated it self to 2.0 whatever they're at (tried v3 on my xp pro pc and didnt like it as it kept crashing so havent upgraded the mac)
Anyone heard of this?
