FCP 6 pixelation problem. Please help

Hey guys, I am at a complete loose end with a problem i'm having in fcp6. I purchased some fuzzy TV transitions from videohive for a project i'm doing. They came in a h.264 .mov file. I am editing in a prores 422 HQ timeline with prores 422 hq files. EVerytime I use a transition from the videohive pack in the timeline, the clip next to it pixelates but only when I export for web in compressor. In the timeline it plays fine. Even when I export the timeline at its current settings it plays fine but when I go to encode that exported file for the web, I get the same pixelated problem. I am at a total loose end with this? It seems as though the tv fuzz files from videohive cause pixelation? I have even tried adding them to old timeline project which have had no problems and I get the same issue.

Does anyone have any ideas at all? I am at a complete loose end pulling my hair out here. Could it be that the Videohive files are NTSC and I am working with PAL footage? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul

Convert them to ProRess and re-import.

Converted everything to prores HQ but still get the problem. Export either fails or if I render out uncompressed from the timeline and then convert to h.264 for web (800kbps) in compressor or WinxHD and get the pixelation on fades/dissolves within the edit.

You are sure the artifacts is not interlacing?

Ive had that problem with export ing time ramped stuff - cure was on the sequence settings which had dominant field top or suchlike instead of 'none' - yes it was a progressive sequence!

Thanks for the tips. The Field Dominance is set to none already. I have managed to find an ok solution - Export uncompressed, then using MPEG streamclip export to H.264 at 100% then put that file through compressor. This looses all the pixellation and just leaves a few artifacts on the fade ups. It's well useable but still annoying the artifacts are there in the fades. Ideally I would like to get rid of these. I'm working with native 10bit 422 HD video files so shouldn't have to suffer poor artifacts that you would expect when grading 8bit 420 footage. Still a mystery as to why its happening but definitely seems to be something to do with the static TV transitions. Maybe its because of how fast they move or the amount of changing data in the image?

I've just set the bitrate to 20000kbps and its solved the problem completely. Obviously this will be too higher bitrate for online streaming. I wonder if there is a way to alternate bitrates?
