DearAll,
Check this out

it seems to be the support of 25p/24p will have to wait .........
Last month I talk to a JVC japan region marketing people in HK, he told me a solution is in progress with Apple, of course I don't expected it will be support in this cross upgrade, but when? I've number of 720p/25/24 tapes in my drawer...how long? Will the FCP6 coming out in April NAB and support it?
If u look close enough, the latest Firestore DR-100 is also no support for QT HDV720p/25/24, and claim an update will release soon Guys I think I'll wait for another month, if apple keep on doing nothings for HDV720p/25/24, I think it's time to move on, any thoughts are wellcome!

Cheers/Daryl :(

The JVC website says that the next release of Apple's Final Cut Pro will support it. I cannot see FCP 6 not having it...Avid is also supposed to support it. I understand that you can conver the HDV to DVC PRO HD through Lumiere HD. You may want to try that. I have a feeling though that since the crossgrade just came out that FCP6 is months off...It will be unvailed at NAB most likely.

I usually don't chime in on things like this because I'm anything but an expert in post but I have to tell you, while there are a number of people still swearing by their Nitros and FCP, Premiere is picking up more and more support as alot of independents are making the move. We're posting the entire production of "2nd Unit" that starts next week in Tunica, MS with the Adobe Pro Suite which I hope I can post the information on by tomorrow here because Adobe flew out a muckie-muck to evidence what 2.0 can do a coupe of weeks ago. We were really impressed with the software running on an Axio. Dual HD uncompressed 8-bit streams with 2 layers of motion graphics concurrently running with 2- layers of fixed graphics giving us the same ability the MNF / ESPN trucks have. And with multicam, capabilities, we can even switch the show if we wanted to because we're only using 4-cameras on the arena. If I remember correctly, FCP got a foothold with the Avid devotes in pretty much the same way as FCP is about to allow Premiere get a foothold with their ardent supporters. I don't know but we're putting an awful lot of money into seeing and evidencing just what Adobe, Matrox and JVC can do on a real television show.

I've been waiting and watching for your post on your brainchild "Second Unit" since you and I think George Dibbie talked about it at HD Expo and I haven't seen anything here yet. BTW, thanks for introducing us. Everyone speaks so highly of him here it's like he's the wold's No. 1 Cinematographer when it comes to TV. You guys said it was really for all of the readers here and independents all over so when are you going to let the rest of us in on this?

Exactly! God knows what Apple are thinking!!!

I am tempted to switch and I have been a FCP poster boy for the past 6 years.
