FCP 5.1.3 Available now - P2 Compatibility bug fixed

Robert Lane said:
Apple has just released a handful of OSX and one FCP update this evening; 5.1.3 specifically addresses among other things "Panasonic P2" compatibility. According to my sources this should address the problem many have been having with Final Cut creating corrupt or unusable clips during the import process when transcoding MXF into Quicktimes.
Apparently you're the only one who's saying this (fixing the P2 compatibility)...http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=87831

My bad

My bad

You're right; I re-read the release notes and the "compatibility" was referecend in the ".2" update. I updated the post.

I am not yet ready to declare that the bug is fixed, however, I did successfully import footage into FCP 5.1.3 which would not import into FCP 5.1.2. Now, this could also be due to the fact that, at least in my case, the bug has been intermittent. But one test on one problematic project (and I imported a number of clips which had previously failed) was successful.

Now, please don't quote me all over the internet that it is fixed.

But, as I had noted in a post here on the FCP forum, I did notice that the update installed a new DVCPRO HD component in QT folder.

Let's hope it is fixed.
