When I first heard about P2, I was like, there's no way I could afford to shoot reasonably with this camera. That's what kind of steered me away from it. Then I realized that the workflow could be managed when I was hearing personal accounts from people who were out there in the field, flying by the seat of their pants in a trial by fire. The eminent workflow seems to be: (2) 4GB or 8GB P2 cards, a P2 60GB Store for off-loading between takes loading into P2 Genie on a laptop. In fact, it was a Editor's Guild seminar on the P2 workflow a couple months back that really convinced me that it was the right way to go.
Though the JVC HD-100 has interchangeable lenses, I didn't see much of a selection of 1/3" lenses out there. If you want to use 35mm film lenses, you still have to rent/buy a P+S Technik adapter. If only the HVX-200 had a miniDV-based HDV acquisition system. It would be perfect for economical shoots when you don't have enough P2 cards around or a long interview ala documentary. I guess the Cineporter and Firestore will alleviate some of those problems if you can afford to drop 2g's.
