FCE to FCP

I am NOT a filmmaker, but working with at-risk youth to make a movie on teen issues, so please excuse my ignorance. We have Final cut express 4.0 and I am wondering if those files are transferable to edit on Final Cut Pro 6.0. Thanks!
 
I believe that FCP will open FCE projects, but once you're in FCP you cannot go back to FCE.
 
I just opened a FCE4 project in FCP6 with no problems at all. It does update the project file, so you won't be able to go back to FCE.
 
There you go- sorry my experience in FCE is so limited, (because it is so limited...) :)

Yeah... I've had FCP/FCS for years, but bought a Macbook a couple years ago with FCE pre-installed just to have something on the road for piddling around and teaching some workshops. It's a nifty little program, and will do some pretty amazing things that iMovie never could.
