I'm really, really, really surprised no one has mentioned the dental scene in "Marathon Man" with Dustin Hoffman as the tortured and Lawrence Olivier as the Torturer. That has to be the most horrific torture scene in cinema history.

WOW, you've never seen Oldboy, it makes that scene look like Barney and friends. In Oldboy he pulls 15 teeth out of a guy and they show it. Plus at the end

...SPOILER ALERT

When De Su cuts is own tongue off.

Crazy stuff, beautiful movie though. Check it out, it came out not too long ago.

Like John Hudson said: "Walken, Deniro and Savage playing Russain Roulette in the Deer Hunter"

That one was very intense.

The 2 key scenes from Irriversible (I won't say what they are so as not to spoil), the face eating scene in "Trouble Every Day", the death of the mother in "Haute Tension".

[wesley]

haha yeah irriversible had some gruesome scenes

[Tim Miller]

"Equilibrium" the part at the end, when Christian Bale, is hooked up to the lie detector test and it flattens out and flips out.

"Batman Begins" when Scarecrow gets a dose of his drug and Batman turns the monster that will haunt me forever.

"We were Soldiers," I know cheesy flick, but the part at the end were they charged the hill with the Vietnamese soldiers and all you see is the soldiers running and screaming. Then the two helicopters with mini guns come over the top. Good music with it too.

Dig it

The fight scenes at the end of Equilibrium are some of the best around
