Favorite arm for mounting BT-LH80W to HPX500?

Hey guys,

I'm looking for recommendations on an arm to mount my monitor to my HPX. I was going to get the Panasonic BT-Mount, but they are special order everywhere and I need this sooner. Any suggestions or favorites? Thanks!

Is your left arm available for rental Noel? How much?

I just spec'd out what I'd need from Zacuto. Tell me if this sounds right:

1. 1 x ZAmerican Small
2. 2 x ZicroMount

Does this sound right? Those three items come to a whopping $385, not including shipping, which seems absolutely ridiculous considering I can get a Noga arm for $130 approx. Am I missing something? Thanks!

I'm sure the Z's are easier to use, but I decided to fiddle for a few extra seconds every time I use the Noga & save $$. $95 for each mount? I'd rather spend it on my mortgage.

Thanks for the feedback guys. After much debate I decided to get the Zacuto setup. I got the Zamerican medium and two Zicro mounts. With shipping this came to just over $400, which seems absolutely ridiculous to me, but it is something I'll have for a long time and get a lot of use out of, and the quick release functionality will really come in handy. I plan to use the arm both for mounting my LCD, and for mounting my Litepanel (one at a time, of course). I should get it Wednesday, so I'll let you know if I think it was worth the dough.

Got the Zacuto arm today. It is incredibly nice. Worth $400? Maybe. I will even say probably. I can't compare with a Noga so tough to say what the comparison is like, but I don't feel like I've been ripped off with the Zacuto.

No Peter here, but I can tell you the Zacuto with the Z American arm is 2 times stronger than the noga.

The Noga is just fine for a small monitor, but with my Marshall and a HUGE Sony V-mount battery, the Z American is the best. The quick release mounts they have are awesome as well.

Hunter: Yes I think I am past the 40k marker now. Amazing how things add up so quickly!!

Eureka: Let me know what info in particular you'd like. As I mentioned in a previous post, I haven't used a Noga, so I can't compare, but McGee's post in that regard seems helpful.

The Zacuto is really nice and incredibly strong. The single lever for tightening the arm is very slick and effortless, as are the quick release Zicro Mounts. This piece of kit I'm sure will last forever (and I guess with the Zacuto warranty is guaranteed to do so). I often work with a litepanel, so the arm will get a lot of use with that as well.

It handles my 8" Panasonic monitor with AB Dionic 90 attached no problem. It could easily hold a much heavier setup I think.

It is a shockingly (at least to me) expensive piece of gear, and this in the world of film stuff which is often shockingly expensive. However, like an OConnor tripod, it is worth the premium and will likely pay for itself many times over.
