Huh? Mark said somewhere in this ginormous thread that a Red rental exchange was made, but not actual pay.

An exchange was made, an exchange of cash.

I gave Mark an Indie rate on his Indie short in exchange for some services.

Yeah, I didn't say we didn't pay cash for the camera rental, just that we worked out a deal that was very favorable cash-wise because of what we were able to bring to the table. Similarly, we got the studio set for next to nothing, but still had to pay the stage manager who had to be on set for two days as well as paying for the big power we used when running the big dog lights. We also had to pay for the regular cleanup charge when we wrapped.

In the end we were able to shoot this on a true shoestring because of some wheeling/dealing and schmoozing (along with old fashioned generosity and donations).
