1.
What is the fastest way to offload P2 to HDD?

2.
When using my PCMCIA laptop slot, it takes about a minute for 1GB, maybe a little longer.
Is this normal for P2 in PCMCIA slot, does anyone offlad faster this way?

3.
The manual for the AJ-PCD20 (5slot offload via FW, USB2 device) states up to 20x datatransfer.
How come this is so much faster (is it really?), where is the bottleneck?

4.
How fast is the transfer from P2 in HVX200 to PC via FW ?
(It is possible to offload from camera to PC via FW, is it?)

1. Fastest way would be from a modern laptop's PCMCIA slot to a RAIDed hard disk. You want to make sure that there isn't a bottleneck that's slowing you down.

2. A modern laptop should be able to deliver 2GB per minute, so twice as fast as what you're getting. Even to my internal 4200RPM SATA drive I get about 2GB per minute.

3. The bottleneck is probably the hard disk you're copying to, or the USB2 connection. Connect via firewire 800, and connect to an eSata RAID, and you should see very fast transfers.

4. About 1 minute per gig.

FYI - persons with newer laptops (i.e. no PCMCIA slot)

I use MacBook pro with Duel Adapter PCMCIA to Express card adapter onto my internal HDD gives me between 1-2 GB/min.
