He had a remarkable career. It's an odd coincidence that I succumbed to the urge to re-watch New Nightmare when I came across it on Netflix last night, in which he plays himself. It was the first time I had watched any of his films in years. I've always enjoyed his work, particularly the Scream films. I'm a little sad that we'll never have another sequel with Wes Craven at the helm.

I watched Elm St 2 & 3 last week. Freddy Krueger was the reason I started with horror movies.

Tina's death scene gave me my first major nightmare. Watching it years and years later the artistry of that first Elm Street film really holds up.
