Farewell (Epitaph Records) Music Video

Great music video. It is so absolutely refreshing to see a concept video with humor and imagination. (I can hardly look at fake performance videos anymore) Great look with the Mini35. Also a really cool song. Thanks for posting.

fantastic video man!

im curious, the hilights looked very filmic to me, is this due to the 4:2:2 color space, or something that happens with the focusing screen of thel mini35?

its probably due to the mini35 - i'm not entirely sure what you mean though

Hey I loved it also. Very refreshing and a great song. I liked the comfortability factor that the singer portrayed. He seemed so relaxed and the director got really good performances from everybody which made the story interesting.

Can u post some of the workflow with P2 and the 720P footage? also is the classroom lit with HMI's or some other daylight balanced lights? or did you just get the lights to match the exterior (windows)?

i think what you want as far as our workflow is an explaination of what we do on set? let me know if this is what you wanted:
  • we have 2-8 gig cards and 1-16 gig card - shoot until fuil.
  • for this particular shoot we had two HVX cameras on set so we shot the camera with stock lens as a slow mo backup - just to get some b-roll footage (had 2-4 gig cards in this camera).
  • we used the duel-system adapter to get the footage into our macbook pro (its amazing - highly recommend it)
  • dump footage to a hard drive and edit on final cut studio
  • color correction on Discreet Smoke
we used several large HMIs. i think outside we had a total of 3 (18k and i think 2 5k) and then inside the classroom we used daylight balanced bulbs (alot were keno).
