Fantasy Football?

My God...please dont chastise me for asking this question...because I would love to get in...but, if someone explains the basic rules to me...I'd love to play....? I LOVE Football...

basically, each person has a team with the same amount of players and the stats that the players on your team accumulate are added together to make your score.

Your team is determined by the draft, where you pick your team based on needs. I believe this league has 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Kicker, and a Team Defense.

That's the basics, but if you join and pay attention and do a little research you'll pick it up very quickly - especially if you watch football already.

I had no friggin' idea I would ever get into Fantasy sports but last year my brother-in-law did. I watched his Fantasy Football team all season long (he had given me access to his page). Anyway, I couldn't believe how easy and fun it was. I participated in the NFL Playoff edition of fantasy sports (much different rules). I had a blast. Then he got me on a fantasy baseball team. I was a bit freaked. That seemed too long and too much work. But it has been a blast as well!

I say all of this, because it is very easy to pick-up. And it is a lot of fun!

The chastising takes place later when the trash-talking begins!!!
 
ok guys, we have 7 in our league so far. It would be nice to have an even number so we can have matchups each week!

I just read in the draft rules that we HAVE to have an even number of players in order to conduct the draft!

I have no idea why. But I did just read that.

I wonder if we should repost this announcement. Would that help catch some more eyes? I don't want to abuse the forums here.
 
Any word on Richie White joining? We have 7 teams and it sounds like we HAVE to have an even number. (Even if it wasn't a rule, it would suck to have a Bye week several times throughout the season.

I wish that we could post a banner at the top of dvxuser directing fantasy football fans to sign up! I am sure that there are many other filmmakers on this site who like Football and would like to play.

I am going to go back to the rules, but we may have to recruit from beyond our walls of dvxuser!
 
Hey Brandon, I was just going to PM you to see if you knew what was going on. I guess we do need to have an even number of teams because I can't even get the draft clock on the overview page!

That's sucks. I was hoping that we could play!

Hmmmm.... does anyone know if we can only add a new team through our "commish?"

I could email a buddy of mine and get him to play just so we have an even number of teams. He's not a dvxuser, but right now a drummer will come close enough! I just don't know that I can get him to sigh up without an invite from Tjohara99.

If there is not a new team in the next few minutes or if I don't hear from anyone, I will delete my team so that you guys can at least play. :crybaby:

I just had my draft in my drummer-buddy's league last night, so I will get to at least play... but not with you guy!:(
