I was suddenly confronted by the error message that the fan was not operating when shooting in the field today. The camera had worked flawlessly earlier in the morning - just below freezing outside - and the battery was almost unused, but it shut down after a few seconds stating the the fan was not operating. I removed the battery and let the camera sit without it, several times, but without any change. A few hours later I was able to get it to work.
The manual does contain a sentence or two on this error message simply stating that one should turn off the power and then try again.
I am not sure what the real significance is of this message, what it means and whether this is an early warning that it will fail completely on me shortly?
Has anyone else experienced the same problem and can shed any light on it?
