...with the DVX. This is my DAUGHTER's camera, but I borrowed it to shoot some test footage for a documentary we're thinking of doing.

Came home, plugged it straight into the TV and hit play.

BLEW ME AWAY. 24P, auto-focus, auto-exposure -- the images were breathtaking. Clean clean clean. Color was just plain magnificent. Exposure was spot-on.

Wow.

yea i showed my friend who is a film major in Vassar college some of my DVX footage. I didint say anyhting and asked what film stock it origionated on. KAPOW! it is a nice camera.

I have to chime in here too.. It is an amazing camera, bought mine in late summer this year. I shot with an old friend yesterday who had been doing "high end" broadcast for 25+ years and he had been "interested" in the camera and what he had read, but you had to see his face when I handed it to him set for auto/auto and he shot with it, then look at the images. He was like I was and most people here, blown away. I only wish I had joined this movement back in the 100 series not so late, I have a b but better late than never.
I was shooting with a vx1000 way back and they were good and you could get away with footage shot in tight or risky situations and even the jump to the pd150's was great but nothing like this camera.
And I also have to say that the community it spawned here is fantastic, the support for new users and old alike has no parallel. Jarred Land is to be applauded for his foresight in creating the group, Barry Green for having the knowledge of Yoda and the patience of a saint and John Hudson for being...well himself and with the hope he will fill in for Larry King sometime.

I fell in love with the DVX100 back in 2003 but since getting an HVX200 it's hard to look back. Don't get me wrong, the DVX and I are still friends and we talk all the time; I just don't think we're meant to be together.
