fake money

hey guys. i'm needing a whole bunch of cash and/or coins from the 19th century. what's the best way to do this? I assume you can buy these somewhere or make them if you know how. thanks for the help...

My suggestion would be somewhat the obvious. Depending on how you need the money to look, if it where it stacks just take a real bill and under that just use filler like paper cut to size and then rubber band that with those thick rubberbands they use...thats all i got.

If you have the patience, design something in photoshop and run off a couple hundred copies. Cut em all out and you should be set.

The nice thing about this approach is that you can customize the money (like stick your characters faces on or whatever - for that really cheesy effect.. hehe), as well, it does not have much of a value as something that you would buy is. Its cheap, its easy, and well, it is a pain to cut, but thats part of the deal with indie stuff.

... Buying fake money... that makes no sens :-P.

LOL - Aint it the truth!

My suggestion for Ebay was based on the fact that he said he needs 19TH CENTURY MONEY. Simply taking existing bills and making a stack out of them is great for MODERN money,.. but my understanding was, thats not what he's looking for.

Ty - here's an example of what I am talking about. Go to www.ebay.com, and in the search bar enter this number: 160126002398. They are replica bills from the early 1800's apparently. Hope that helps.

good stuff. money back then was considerably bigger and they obviously didn't have the colorful 'counterfeit proof' bills back then. so modern money just wouldn't look right. and i don't have the skill and/or time to make realistic money with photoshop.

i couldn't figure out what to search for on ebay, but that link is exactly what i need. thanks, Master of Sage
