Fake iPhones? Kids stuff. Faking an entire Apple Store? Now that takes cojones

It’s an Apple store!

Or is it?

RP and I went inside and poked around. They looked like Apple products. It looked like an Apple store. It had the classic Apple store winding staircase and weird upstairs sitting area. The employees were even wearing those blue t-shirts with the chunky Apple name tags around their necks.

This was a total Apple store ripoff. A beautiful ripoff – a brilliant one – the best ripoff store we had ever seen

That looks GOOD! I wouldn't think twice about it being real or not. Then again, while I was overseas they did have Coach, D&G, and LV purses for about $35-$200 each.

lol !
well written too, I liked the way they hold off the info about that there were 3 rip off stores and used it as a punchline

I wouldn't mind it so much if the employees weren't deluded into actually thinking they were working for Apple.

The article didn't mention if those were actual Apple products or third-party rip-offs though. And when I first saw the headline, I thought it meant the App Store, not the Apple Store.

I guess the two giveaways are:
- Apple stores don't have Apple Store signs
-Apple stores definitely don't have "Apple Stoer" signs

There is a topic behind this that is SO much deeper then this one example. *ugh* I've tried to talk about it before... and got a lambasting from a few members who disagreed with me... but the bigger issue here is that this is what the economy is up against.

People over here have no idea... NO... idea... of the reality. Read that article... much of what you probably take as humorous writing is literal. When people say the world economy is bad... their bad economy looks nothing like our bad economy. All you see is TEAMS of cranes building CLUSTERS of high-rise housing... everywhere... at least everywhere that's within a train-ride or bicycle ride to a factory job.

Gee? What happened? When's the economy going to turn around? LOL... wow... and nobody can figure it out(?)

Yep. It is downright scary and kind of surreal isn't it?

My wild-eyed dreams of making a living as a writer or filmmaker don't seem as silly anymore, because the so called "practical" job market (globally at least) is up against such absurdity.
