Fader ND or ND500MC?

I've been looking at both of these. Both are made by lightcraft, one is a fader the other has 9 ND stops and is a little cheaper. Does anyone have any preferences or reasons to get one over the other?

Yeah, don't get the ND500MC. It's overkill for filming and you'll be shooting at a ISO 1000+ just to see some kind of image in sunny conditions

Save your money and image quality, and buy a selection of normal ND filters to give you a range of stops.

Fader ND. Outdoors, I very rarely shoot without it. It's a great way to quickly control your "iris". Leave your aperture at or near wide, especially if you're after a shallow DOF, and quickly control your exposure by turning the Fader. Unless you have lots of time to set up every shot and change out ND filters, it's a must-have piece of kit.

Why is the ND500MC overkill? Im doing run and gun events and docs, so using a bunch of different filters is not good for me. Thinking about going with the ND500MC over the Fader ND, simply because it is cheaper.
