Even better for crucial projects is to have cheap Matte Box with Cokin Filters.
VariableND is also possible with Cokin Polirizers, but cheap NDs are better.

I'd like to go the DIY route with the variable ND but have noticed mention of autofocus not working correctly with a linear polarizer. Can anyone attest to this with the Gh1 kit lens?

How does this work? What's the process if you have two linear? Or one CPL and one linear?

From what I've read, you can either put an LPL and CPL together with the LPL on the outside or two CPLs together with the outside CPL reversed. I took the easier route, mainly because I didn't want to fiddle with a filter but also because the LPL was a bit less money.
